Adventure Travel in Alaska

Alaska adventure, adventure Alaska, Alaska adventure travel

?

So many people are blown away by pictures and videos of Alaska ? wait until you get there on your own Alaska adventure! For those people who want something different on their next vacation, Alaska has to be one of those locations under consideration, especially if that something different is adventure. An Alaska adventure is typically for those who have a bucket list, though not necessarily.

If you are just now beginning to investigate your next vacation or adventure, then look at the uniqueness and wonder that is Alaska and all the travel options available to you, from hiking the Tongass National Forest, to skiing gigantic, untouched slopes of the best powder in North America, kayaking up streams filled with salmon, to learning about the indigenous cultures, seeing the majestic mountains, to birding and viewing wildlife.

For those wanting something more adventurous than the basics of sightseeing in Alaska, or taking an Alaskan cruise, then let?s look at some of the other, more radical Alaska adventure options there are available to you.

An adventure Alaska trip must include one or more of the following locations and types of travel to be truly considered an Alaska adventure:

1) Fishing ? There are so many great spots to take your rod and reel and go fishing in Alaska, whether it?s in a bay, an ocean, a stream or a river, there are many fishing options for the adventure traveler to choose from. Salmon, halibut, trout and many other types of fish await you, and, fresh from the water make a great meal.

2) Backpacking trips ? There are few roads in any of the national parks and great locations for adventure traveling, but that?s part of what attracts you to this opportunity. Backpacking may be the greatest way to see Alaska, and is one of the most popular things to do by travelers. Climb ridges, view some of Alaska?s many unclimbed peaks, cross fields of flora and fauna not found anywhere else in the world, cross streams and rivers, wander across the tundra, and set camp by lakes under the sun or stars.

3) Multi-sport tours ? Multi-sport tours are becoming increasingly popular with those seeking out an Alaskan adventure trip. They consist of hiking, kayaking, rafting, and glacier trekking through some of Alaska?s most pristine land. From Wrangell-St. Elias to the Prince William sound, a multi-sport adventure tour offers variety, excitement, and new experiences.

4) Family adventures ? in the past, few families came on adventure trips to Alaska, but now, families can be found enjoying all of what Alaska has to offer. Kayaking, birding, hiking through rain forests, fishing, and more.

Of course, Alaska adventure travel consists of more than what is listed here, so keep researching and you will certainly discover why Alaska has become the go-to state for adventure travel in America.
